Simultaneous Recording & Playback
(SIMUL REC&PLAY)
This setting specifies whether to allow simultaneous play-
back and recording.
1. Move the cursor to SIMUL REC&PLAY with the [D] or
[C] button.
2. Select on or off with the JogDial, and press the JogDial.
The default is ON.
ON: Allows simultaneous recording and playback
including remote-access playback and FTP access.
The default recording rate is 15 FPS, and the high-
est rate is 30 FPS.
OFF: Places priority on recording triggered by pressing
the REC button or by an alarm input. Playback
including remote-access playback and FTP access
will be interrupted if recording starts. The default
recording rate is 15 FPS, and the highest rate is 30
FPS.
Notes:
A 30 FPS recording rate will decrease to 15 FPS
when playback, remote-access playback, or FTP
access is carried out simultaneously with recording.
Simultaneous playback will pause prior to a time
space depending on the recording rate when the
playback area on the disk nears the recording area.
This is to avoid the access collision caused by the
simultaneous recording and playback in an area on
the disk.
0.1 FPS: 20 minutes maximum
1 FPS: 2 minutes maximum
7.5 FPS: 15 seconds maximum
15 FPS: 7 seconds maximum
Even if preset to 30 or 15 FPS, the actual recording
rate may drop to 7.5 FPS at worst while busy multi-
tasks such as playback, remote-access playback,
remote-access live image, FTP access, multi-split
display, or video motion detection are carried out
simultaneously. The status display will indicate
"*PLAY" while playing back the images recorded
with a rate different from the preset.
Alteration Detection Setup
(ALTER DETECT)
You can enable or disable the recorder to add alteration-
detection signals in the JPEG data supplied to the network.
The default is OFF.
1. Move the cursor to ALTER DETECT.
2. Select ON or OFF with the JogDial and press the
JogDial.
ON: Detects alterations.
OFF: Does not detect.
Notes:
When set to ON, the data transmission rate on the net-
work will slow down.
Ask your dealer whether alterations are found in the
image data distributed via the network if necessary.
