4.3 Broadcast Audio Options

z Preferred Language
(digital channels only)
Use the up and down arrow keys to select a language, and then press [ ].
Digital-TV broadcasts can simultaneously transmit many audio tracks (for example, simultaneous
translations of the program into foreign languages).
You can only select a language from among the ones being broadcasted.
z Multi-Track Sound
(analog channels only)
Select an option using the up and down arrow keys, and the press [ ].
Mono: Choose for channels that are broadcasting in mono or if you are having difficulty
receiving a stereo signal.
Stereo: Choose for channels that are broadcasting in stereo.
SAP: Choose to listen to the Separate Audio Program, which is usually a foreign-language
translation.
Depending on the program being broadcast, you can listen to Mono, Stereo, or SAP.
4.4 SPDIF Output

SPDIF (Sony Philips Digital InterFace) is used to provide digital sound, reducing interference going to
speakers and various digital devices such as a DVD player.
z Audio Format: You can select the Digital Audio output (SPDIF) format.
The available Digital Audio output (SPDIF) format may differ depending on the input source.
z Audio Delay: Correct audio-video sync problems, when watching TV or video, and when listening to
digital audio output using an external device such as an AV receiver (0ms ~ 250ms).
