Locking and Unlocking the Front Panel (Executive Modes)
To prevent access by unauthorized users or accidental changes to the AVT 200HD settings,
you can lock most of the front panel controls by using executive modes. (The rear panel
RS-232 and LAN ports and the front panel USB Config port remain accessible in all executive
modes).
You can also select executive modes via the serial or LAN ports by using the SIS commands
(see the executive mode commands in the “Remote Configuration and Control” section),
the Windows-based control software (see the program help file) or the web pages (see
“Tuner Settings Page“ in the “HTML Configuration and Control” section).
The AVT 200HD has four types of security lock that set limits for operation of the tuner from
the front panel:
• Disable mode (default) — The front panel is completely unlocked (executive mode is
disabled). All front panel functions are available.
To unlock the front panel, press the Menu and Next buttons simultaneously and hold
them until the following message is displayed on the LCD screen (approximately
2 seconds):
EXEC MODE SELECT
DISABLE
• Complete mode — All functions are locked from the front panel except for disabling
executive mode. SIS commands, the configuration and control software, the HTML
pages, and the IR remote control remain available.
Any attempt to enter a command from the front panel results in the following message
displayed on the LCD screen for 2 seconds:
EXECUTIVE MODE
COMPLETE
• Volume only mode — Locks all front panel operations except volume adjustments.

VOLUME ONLY
• IR Lockout mode — Locks out all IR access. The AVT IR remote control does not
communicate with the tuner when the AVT is in this mode. All other front panel
functions are available.
