Playback
VCR
1 Press POWER button on the remote control or
the main unit.

Insert a prerecorded tape, then press PLAY B
(VCR) button to begin playback.
NOTE:
• When a tape without the record tab is inserted, the unit will
start playback automatically.
•Tracking will be automatically adjusted upon playback.To
adjust the tracking manually, press the CHANNEL

buttons on the
remote control.
3 Press STOP C (VCR) button to stop playback.
4 Press C STOP/A EJECT button on the main
unit to eject the tape.
Recording
Normal Recording
Before recording, make sure:
• Stereo or SAP is selected (page 17).
• The desired channel should be selected by press-
ing the Number buttons on the remote control or
CHANNEL

/
L
buttons on the main unit.
•
A tape with a record tab should be loaded inside the unit.
•
The desired recording speed should be selected in SP
(standard play) or SLP (super long play) mode by
pressing REC SPEED button twice on the remote con-
trol. Use
K
/
L
buttons to change the recording speed.
•
Refer to page 58 for instructions on timer recording.

Press VCR RECORD button to begin the recording.
To temporarily stop recording, press PAUSE F button.
Press VCR RECORD button to resume the recording.
When 5 minutes have passed since the unit entered
Pause mode, the recording will automatically stop.

Press STOP C (VCR) button when the recording
is completed.
NOTES:
• You can ONLY watch the same TV program that is being
recorded.
Accidental erasure prevention
To prevent accidental recording
on a recorded cassette, remove
its record tab. To record on it
later,cover the hole with cello-
phane tape.
