Dubbing
Dubbing programs or play list
[HDD] [RAM] [DVD-R] [SD] [CARD] (Mobile hard disk only)
It is possible to dub a program or play list to another drive.
Dubbing a play list will create a program.
You can dub a maximum of 250 programs to HDD and 99 pro-
grams to DVD-RAM or DVD-R.
You can dub a maximum of 999 SD VIDEO (MPEG4) programs.
You can high speed dub. Using a high speed compatible DVD-R
allows you to dub in an even shorter amount of time.
You can use the Direct Navigator to play SD VIDEO (MPEG2)
recorded on future releases of Panasonic video cameras by using
the “High Speed (MPEG2)” mode for dubbing.

Preparation
Press [HDD] to select HDD drive.
1 While stopped
Press [FUNCTIONS].
2 Press [3, 4, 2, 1] to
select “DUBBING” and
press [ENTER].
e.g., Dubbing from HDD to DVD-RAM
3 Select the dubbing direction.

–Still picture(s) cannot be dubbed.
–You cannot convert to a SD VIDEO (MPEG4)
program.
: Program recorded with the “Rec in DVD-R high speed
mode” setting (page 52) “On” and play lists created
from that program.

–Play lists created from programs using a variety of
recording modes
–Play lists created from multiple programs using “FR”
recording mode
–Play lists mixed with a variety of audio types (Dolby
Digital and LPCM, etc.)
–Programs that contain repeatedly erased segments
: Program with recording limitations
–Programs with recording limitations are transferred
without dubbing. Note that programs will not be
transferred if they are protected.
–Programs with recording limitations and play lists
cannot be registered on the same dubbing list.
–You cannot select play lists when the play list was
created from a program containing a recording
limitation.
“Estimated destination storage”:
Percentage of SD VIDEO (MPEG4) program space
for dubbing proportionate to the amount of blank
space on the destination drive.

“New program” and
press [ENTER].

] to select “Select Programs” or “Select PLAY LISTs”.
4 Press [3, 4] to select the program or play list for dubbing
and press [ENTER].
Repeat steps 5-2 to 5-4 to register more than one.
[Make sure “Remain” on the dubbing list is greater than
“Amount”. Dubbing will not begin if “Amount” is larger than
“Remain”. (Excluding when “MPEG2 to 4” mode is
selected)]
To select with the numbered buttons:
e.g., “5”: [0] [5], To select a program on HDD:
“15”: [1] [5] “5”: [0] [0] [5]
5 Press [RETURN].
Return to step 2.
6 While the screen in step 2 is displayed
Press [3, 4] to select “Start dub-
bing” and press [ENTER].
The confirmation screen will be displayed.

] to select “Yes” and press [ENTER] to start dubbing.
To stop dubbing
Press and hold [RETURN] for 3 seconds.
If stopped partway, dubbing will be up to that point. However, in
high speed mode, only programs that have completed dubbing at
the point stopped are dubbed. (Remaining disc space will be
reduced once you have recorded/dubbed to DVD-R.)
