6 RS-485/NETWORK SET
This section describes how to make the RS-485 terminal
connections/settings needed to connect to an external
device, and how to make the network connections needed
to connect to a PC.
You can make digital video recorder menu settings and
monitor images from a PC via a network (LAN). To do so,
connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN terminal on the digital
video recorder’s rear panel.
z To connect a PC directly
(Do not use an Ethernet hub.)
z To connect to an intranet
(Use an Ethernet hub.)
When setting the IP address automatically in
the PC
Set dip switch No. 9 to the top position. The IP address will
be set automatically.
When setting the IP address on the digital
video recorder
Set the least significant byte of the address (rightmost byte
of “192.168.0.1”) on the dip switches.
You can set a value between 1 and 250. Other settings are
read as 250.
(1) Set dip switch No. 9 to the bottom position.
The IP address set manually on the other dip switches
will be used.
(2) Use dip switch Nos. 1 to 8 to set the least significant
byte of the IP address as a binary number.
Setting a dip switch to the top position sets that bit to
“1”. Setting a dip switch to the bottom position sets that
bit to “0”.
