Getting to Know the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E

A POWER switch (42)
This is the main power switch. When set to OFF, the
DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is completely shutdown.
When set to ON, the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E can
be set to On or Standby.
B STANDBY indicator (42)
The Standby indicator lights up when the
DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E is set to Standby.
C STANDBY/ON button (42)
This button is used to set the DV-SP1000/
DV-SP1000E to On or Standby.

See “Display” on page 17 for more information.
E Remote control sensor (14)
This sensor receives control signals from the remote
controller.
F DISPLAY button (63)
This button is used to display information about the
disc, title, chapter, group, or track, including the
elapsed time, remaining time, total time, and so on.
G Previous [ ] button (48, 49, 52)
This button is used to select the previous chapter or
track. During playback it selects the beginning of
the current chapter or track.
H Next [ ] button (48, 49, 52)
This button is used to select the next chapter or
track.
I VIDEO CIRCUIT OFF button & indicator (66)
This button is used to turn off all of the internal
video circuitry, eliminating the possibility of inter-
ference when playing audio-only discs. The OFF
indicator lights up when the video circuitry is turned
off.
J VIDEO INPUT button (66)
This button is used to select the video input source:
DVD (the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E) or EXTER-
NAL (S-Video input or composite video input).
K DVD & EXTERNAL indicators (66)
These indicators show the currently selected video
input source: DVD or EXTERNAL.
L Disc tray (45)
Discs are loaded onto the disc tray.
M Open/Close [ ] button (45)
This button is used to open and close the disc tray.
N Stop [ ] button (46)
This button is used to stop playback.
O Play [ ] button (46)
This button is used to start playback.
