This button is used to start playback.
O Previous/Next [ ]/[ ] buttons (48, 49, 52)
The Previous [ ] button is used to select the pre-
vious chapter or track. During playback it selects
the beginning of the current chapter or track. The
Next [ ] button is used to select the next chapter
or track.
P Pause [ ] button (46)
This button is used to pause playback.
Q LAST MEMORY button (63)
This button is used with the Last Memory function.
R STEP/SLOW [ ]/[ ] buttons (50, 51)
These buttons are used for frame-by-frame playback
and slow-motion playback.
S SUBTITLE button (62)
This button is used to select subtitles.
T AUDIO button (62)
This button is used to select foreign language
soundtracks and audio formats (e.g., Dolby Digital
or DTS). It’s also used to select the multichannel
area, 2-channel area, or CD layer on SACDs.
U A-B button (57)
This button is used to set the A–B Repeat function.
V REPEAT button (57)
This button is used to set the Repeat function.
W VIDEO OFF button (66)
This button is used to turn off all of the internal
video circuitry for pure audio playback.
X VIDEO INPUT button (66)
(This button is not used on the Canadian model.)
This button is used to select the video input source:
DVD (the DV-SP1000/DV-SP1000E) or EXTER-
NAL (S-Video input or composite video input).
Y OPEN/CLOSE [ ] button (45)
This button is used to open and close the disc tray.
Z LIGHT button
This button is used to turn on or off the remote con-
troller’s illuminated buttons.
a CLEAR button (48, 49)
This button is used to cancel functions and to clear
entered numbers.
b TOP MENU button (47)
This button is used to select a DVD’s top menu.
c MENU button (47)
This button is used to select a DVD’s menu.
d PICTURE CONTROL button (67)
This button is used to open the Picture Control
menu.
e SETUP button (70)
This button is used to access the onscreen setup
menus (OSD).
f FR/FF [ ]/[ ] buttons (50)
The FR [ ] button is used to start fast reverse. The
FF [ ] button is used to start fast forward.
g Stop [ ] button (46)
This button is used to stop playback.

This button is used with the Random function.
i ANGLE button (61)
This button is used to select different camera angles.
j RESOLUTION button (66)
This button is used to select a video resolution for
the HDMI OUT.
