1. Load a pre-recorded tape. (If the erasure prevention tab
has been removed, the VCR automatically begins play-
back mode.)
2. Press the REC/PLAY MODE (+) or (-) buttons to select
the desired playback mode.
• A tape recorded in 2H, L12H, or L24H mode cannot
be played back in 6H mode.
• A tape recorded in 6H mode cannot be played back
in 2H, L12H, 12H, L24H, or 24H mode.
3. Set the VIDEO switch to either COLOR or B/W.
4. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
5. Press the STOP button to halt playback.
• Turn the SHUTTLE ring to the left to rewind the tape
when the VCR is in stop mode.
• Turn the SHUTTLE ring to the right to fast forward
the tape when the VCR is in stop mode.
9.1.1 Playback Mode
• When you press the REC/PLAY MODE button, playback mode is switched in
the following order: 2H, L12H, 12H, L24H, 24H, 2H.
• If the recording is in 6H mode, playback mode is not switched even when you
press the REC/PLAY MODE button.
