Leaning for Best Economy
1) Select the
SYSTEM
Softkey.
2) Select the
ASSIST
Softkey.
3) Lean the mixture until one of the cylinder’s
exhuast temperature peaks. This is indicated
by ‘1st’ being displayed below the first cylinder
to peak. See Figure 3-3.
4) Continue leaning the mixture until the last
of the cylinders peaks. This is indicated by
‘Last’ being displayed below the last peaking
cylinder as shown in Figure 3-4.

5) Monitor the ∆ Peak temperature and continue
leaning the mixture until reaching the value
indicated in the Columbia Airplane Flight
Manual (AFM).
Selecting the ASSIST Softkey returns the MFD to the
EIS Display. Selecting the SYSTEM Softkey exits the
Assist Display and returns the MFD to default operation.
