SAVING IMAGES TO FLOPPY DISKETTE
The FDD function saves the currently displayed video image to a floppy diskette. You must be in PLAYBACK mode. To save the image,
perform the following:
1. Insert a formatted floppy diskette into the diskette drive.
2. Make sure the image to save is currently on-screen.
3. Press the FDD button on the front panel. On the IR remote controller, press the PTZ button.
4. The on-screen display will read
“NETWORK IS STOPPED”
“WRITING IMAGE FILE DATA TO FLOPPY”
“DATA WRITING IS COMPLETE”
After the image file has been saved, the on-screen display reads
“NETWORK IS RESTARTED”
The DX3100 writes two image files to the diskette. The .mpg file can be viewed on many different platforms by any standard MPEG-1
player. However, .mpg files are not encrypted and can therefore be easily altered or forged.
The .dsf file can only be viewed with the DX3100RX software. It has an over-128-bit encryption key so it cannot be altered or forged. It is
very secure. However, it cannot be viewed on many different platforms.
NOTE: Images stored in the .dsf or .mpg files consist of 16 consecutive images that include the selected (displayed) image. The selected
image may appear anywhere among the 16 images; it is not fixed. These images are called a GOP (Group Of Pictures) that consists of one
I-frame and 15 P-frames according to MPEG-1 structure.
NOTE: If an alarm is triggered during an image-saving operation, the saving operation will finish before the unit processes the alarm.
