ALARM DISPLAY ISSUES
You can view alarm video in two ways. You can search for and play back video from specific alarm events (refer to
Playback Mode
). You
can also view alarm event video in real time, as the event occurs, as a natural consequence of alarm wiring and programming.
When there is a valid alarm event, the DX3100 performs the following steps:
1. The unit immediately directs system control to record and display the alarm event. This is done regardless of any user pre-alarm
activity.
2. The channel associated with the alarm is displayed full-screen, if there is only one alarm.
3. The total available record rate (30 ips for NTSC) is used to record and display the alarm on the monitor. If more than one alarm
occurs, the ips rate is shared between active alarms.
4. Alarm events are displayed as they occur. If a second alarm occurs, the screen format changes to 2x2 so that video from both alarms
can be displayed. If more than four alarms occur, the screen format changes to 3x3. For example, if Channel 1 and Channel 5 are both
alarmed at the same time, video from each will appear in the top left and top right panes of the 2x2 display format.
NOTE: The unit displays alarm text information at the lower right of the screen. This text appears in the format: ALARM * * * *. The
asterisks are placeholders for active alarm inputs 1 through 4. For example, “ALARM *2 * 4” appears when alarm inputs 2 and 4 are
active; in this example, alarm inputs 1 and 3 are not active.
5. When all alarms have ceased, either because the alarm record time has elapsed or the alarm has been reset, the existing display
after the last occurring alarm remains on-screen. The system does not return to the pre-alarm position. However, you can resume
normal system operation and manually return to the pre-alarm display using normal button functions.
6. When an alarm event occurs on the DX3100, the remote software (DX3100RX) disconnects all live and playback video currently
being viewed.
