Recording on the HDD archive and simultaneous
playback from the HDD archive
1 Switch on the television and select the preset channel for the
HDD DVD recorder.
2 Press »
Ǽ« to switch on the HDD DVD recorder from standby
mode.
– When you switch on the HDD DVD recorder, the current pro-
gramme that you can see on the television screen is recorded
in the time shift memory.
Note:
Please select the recording quality before starting the recording.
See the section on custom settings and selecting the recording
quality on page 110.
3 Select the television channel by displaying the channel list with
»OK« select the desired television channel with »

and confirm with »OK«.
– Display: for example, »P1 ARD«, the current TV station is
shown.
Note:
If you want to select another input source (for example, a DVD
player on the »SCART« socket), display the AV channel list with
»0«, select the desired input source with »

confirm with »OK«.
4 Press »
●« to start recording.
5 Open the HDD archive by pressing » « (yellow).
Note:
The recording is continued in the background.
6 Select the track by pressing »

– The thumbnail index of the recording is displayed in the con-
tents table.
7 Press »
8« to start HDD archive playback.
Note:
When the YesDVD function is activated, press »

« to select the scene you want (index picture) and
start playback with »

8 Press »
7« to stop HDD archive playback. If the YesDVD func-
tion is activated, press »7« twice.
– The contents table of the HDD archive is displayed.
9 Switch to the recording mode with » « (blue) and stop the
recording with »
7«.
– A message appears. Press »OK« to confirm.
– You can see the data for the recording in the HDD archive.
Note:
If this message is not confirmed, the HDD DVD recorder
continues recording.
