Recording on the HDD archive and simultaneous
playback from disc
1 Switch on the television and select the preset channel for the
HDD DVD recorder.
2 Press »
Ǽ« to switch on the HDD DVD recorder from standby
mode.
– When you switch on the HDD DVD recorder, the current pro-
gramme that you can see on the television screen is recorded
in the time shift memory.
Note:
Please select the recording quality before starting the recording.
See the section on custom settings and selecting the recording
quality on page 110.
3 Select the television channel by displaying the channel list with
»OK« select the desired television channel with »

« or »
S

and confirm with »OK«.
– Display: for example, »P1 ARD«, the current TV station is
shown.
Note:
If you want to select another input source (for example, a DVD
player on the »SCART« socket), display the AV channel list with
»0«, select the desired input source with »

confirm with »OK«.
4 Start recording on the HDD archive with »
●«.
5 Press and hold down »
ə« on the HDD DVD recorder or »

on the remote control.
Put a disc in the disc compartment with the label facing
upwards.
Press »ə« on the HDD DVD recorder or press and hold down

« on the remote control.
– The index screen is displayed.
Note:
The recording is continued in the background.

8« to start playback.

7« twice to stop recording.
9 Switch to recording mode with » « (blue).
10 Start recording on the HDD archive with »

– A message appears. Press »OK« to confirm.
– If the YesDVD function is activated, a message appears telling
you the function is in progress.
– You can see the data for the recording in the HDD archive.
Note:
If this message is not confirmed, the HDD DVD recorder
continues recording.
