beginning of the program by using the shuttle dial, PLAY, REWIND, or FAST
FORWARD button.
2. When you have located the start point of your edit press the SET (TAPE SPEED)
button on the remote. The current time counter is registered.
3. Locate the end point of your edit using the shuttle dial, PLAY, REWIND, or FAST
FORWARD button then press SET (TAPE SPEED) on the remote control. The current
time counter is registered and you now have the start and end points for your edit.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each program segment (up to six) you want to copy.
Note: To correct an error while programming, press the CURSOR (TRACKING) up or
down button to move the cursor to the incorrect counter reading. (Press CURSOR up for
forward or CURSOR down for backward.) Then press the CLEAR (AUTO) button. Then
counter reading will be reset to "-:--:--".
5. Press the CURSOR up button repeatedly so the flashing cursor disappears from the
TV screen. PRESS PLAY TO START will be displayed.
6. Press the RECORD button, then the PAUSE button to place the VCR1 in the
record-pause mode.
7. Press the PLAY button on VCR2. The program menu will disappear from the
screen, and VCR2 will automatically search for the beginning of the first programmed
segment and start copying.
Note: PRESS PLAY TO START must be displayed on the TV screen when you press the
PLAY button for the copying to begin.
When programmable synchro edit is finished, the VCR2 will enter the stop mode and
the VCR1 will enter the record-pause mode. Press the STOP button on the VCR1 to
release the record-pause mode and place it in the stop mode. Then press the GUIDE
button on the VCR2's remote control to remove the PROGRAM EDIT menu from the
TV screen.
Notes:
 If the GUIDE button is pressed prior to pressing the STOP button on the VCR1, the
VCR2 will enter the record mode.
 The programmed information will clear automatically when the cassette is ejected or the
VCR's power is turned off.
 Set the remote control code of the VCR1 to [VCR1] for program synchro editing (refer to
page 24).
 Some models of VCR will switch to the "STOP" mode if they are left in the
RECORD/PAUSE mode for more than five minutes. It is a good idea to not leave your
recording deck in RECORD/PAUSE for more than five minutes so that this will not
happen.
