Setting Time Range for Temporary
Recording
A Access the setup menu.
B Select “HDD/DVD SET UP” B “HDD
SET UP” B “LIVE MEMORY”.
C Select and confirm on other than
“OFF”.
0 Time range AOFFB, A30 MINB, A1 HRB or A3 HRB
can be set.
0 If the time range is exceeded, temporarily
recorded images will be overwritten.
D Exit.
Using the Temporary Recording
Function
To play back the previous part of a TV
programme currently watching
(RetroActive Playback)

Search for the playback position, then start
playback.
0 You can also perform Resuming Playback
[ P61] and One Touch Replay [ P61].
To record the previous part of a TV
programme currently watching
(RetroActive Recording)
While watching a TV broadcast,
A Search for the record start point, then set to
pause.
B Start recording.
0 You can also use REC (R) on the unit.
0 Returns to the on-air screen after a few seconds.
C End recording.
RetroActive Recording
0 The recording mode is AFR65B.
0 When recording is in progress on the DVD,
temporary recording stops.
0 Temporary recording data will be automatically
erased, in the following instances.
• When the unit is turned off, or after recovering from
a power failure.
• When normal recording, timer recording,
RetroActive Recording or digital timer recording is
performed.
• When the following setting is changed. ALIVE
MEMORYB [ P110] I
• When tuner channel setting is performed.
• When the dubbing screen is displayed.
• When DV input is selected.
• When the image output format is switched.
• When a programme in DV mode is played or
edited.

recording will automatically take place for
only the time duration that has been set while
you are watching TV.
9 You can play back missed scenes
(RetroActive Playback), or record from the
beginning of the programme you are
currently watching (RetroActive Recording).
