jepp461, fight with Sears. if you have a warranty, do not let them bamboozle you. Make them prove that your dog ruined your TV set.

Larry thanks for the forum. Without it and the other blogs and posts I would have never been able to have decent information to fight with
Sears. I downloaded the manual and referenced the pg for flash codes and the g-board. Even though it is PITA I will fight with Sears. The
Tech they sent could not speak english or write it. (proficiently)
It would be a lot easier to just replace the board myself. I was not aware of the Sears service issues until I had a problem. Seems this is their
normal text book proceedure not just for TV's but all of their appliances. I am glad it was not the refrigerator. Is there a good source for the G
Board part number A1054157A. Sony does not carry it and it would be nice to order a spare.
Thanks,
Jim

Jeep461, on the G board replace the diodes D6301 part number 6-500-567-21, and the D6116 part number 8-719-081-97. They should
be available at http://www.partstore.com or a local Sony parts distributor should have these common diodes Good Luck and let us know
if this helps you out.

Mustang, you want or would you like to have the service manual for this TV set? If you Want it go HERE and download the service manual.
I do not have this exact manual, but I do have the same chassis if you would like to have a copy, leave an e-mail address and I will see what I
can do for you. Good Luck with this repair.

Hi,
i have the Sony kv-32ls60e , and i got the 3 blinks (meaning OVP, right ?),
i've read about it here but for a different model, that the R6018 was faulted.
Is it possible that my problem derives from the same faulted R6018?
Thank you

Hi Larry,
Since you don't have the manual, could you tell me if 6 flashes and 7 flashes usually indicates a faulty D board. I got an estimate over the
phone. $200 pick up and probably $500 for repairs. I have an electrical background and can replace the board myself. I just want to narrow it
down. I would rather change the whole D board than try to chase something down on the board itself.
Visually the board looks fine. I did find a bad connection on the white wire off the flyback x-former where it connects to the board that plugs
on to the tube. I soldered that and actually got the tv to work for a short time. Now it is back to the 6 flashes and 7 when you turn it on.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. This tv is driving me crazy!

Larry,
Thanks to you and other commenters for this thorough discussion of problems with various Sony models. Very informative.
I have a Sony KP-46WT500, which has gone dead. During a lightning storm, I heard a pop and saw a flash of light from the unit (which was
turned off at the time). The until will not turn on at all now, and there are no blinking lights.
I'm just trying to get a handle on what the problem might be, so I can decide whether to attempt the repair myself or call in a tech
professional. I have some minimal experience in electronics repair, but don't want to do anything where I am in over my head.
Any idea on what the problem may be?
