Sony KDL-40V2000 Flat Panel Television User Manual

see nothing in HD, i think i need a External tuner.
Only when i see a DVD the TV looks not like HD but looks better, but i have the problem of the Circule/Egg
One day i call the Tech´s and they say that problem can be solved but they need a DVDPlayer to play the dvd to make the diagnostic but in
these days i don´t have one so they say ok when you get one call us but that going to be extra$$.
I say but you must bring your own DVDPlayer to make your job that´s not my fault , well at the end i pissoff and dont call them again.
That´s way i need the Service Manual to fix up my TV

Hi, I have a sony KDE-42XS955 die on me. The standby light blinks 9 times. I am waiting for a pro to come out and take a look at the
problem. How much am I looking at to get this fix? I don't want to spend over $1000 to get it fix.
Thanks.

Hi,
(sorry for the repost but I'm really desperate so if anyone can help me ...)
I have a kv-x2962u model SONY TRINITRON television. I have looked on the Sony website for the technical manual but no luck. Your posts
seem to be extremely good and helpful, well done!
What I'm after is finding out what the error code the TV is displaying refers to.
It switches off after a while of being on and the 1st LED flashes 1 time, then the 2nd LED flashes 13 times. This sequence repeats itself
indefinately.
Do you know where I can find the meanings of the flash error codes of this tv?
I am electronically and technically able so any help or advice you could give me would be enormously appreciated. Taking it to a Sony Repair
shop does not help as the cost to simply look at it is more I can afford at the moment.
Thanks alot in advance for any help,
Chris

porac, where are you located, that model number does not look familiar?

Hi Larry,
Im in the UK, I know this is a US located forum but all attempts at contacting Sony UK had the same response: "that information is for
registered dealers/techinicians and we can not give you anything...contact a dealer".
Thanks!

Ok I thought so, as our sets here do not usually have a third letter in the beginning of the model number. Even it you looked on the back of
the set and located the chassis number, maybe I could have found one close to it. But there is one problem with that. Your voltage over there
is 220 @ 50 hertz, ours here is 120volts @ 60 hertz. Also the color system is different. So the sets would maybe be close but so far if you had a
problem in the power supply. Good Luck

Wicked article dudes! .. this is awesome. I have a KV-34XBR800 that won't turn on properly, I hear clicks but nothing on the screen. I'm not
sure how many blink codes there are, but I brought it in for a diag for $25 at the local shop. They told me the dboard needs replacing. I'm
trying to find a service manual so I can do this. I can get the part, I just need to swap it out. If anyone has that manual and could find it in
their heart to send it over to marcvermette[at]gmail.com ... that'd be sweet. BTW, is this a hard part to swap?? Anything special to watch out
for (besides zapping myself)?? Also, I have no idea what board the dboard actually is, small? big? anything specific about it so I know which
one to remove?? Thanks a bunch..

DakotaFox said: Hello, I have a Sony KV-32v42. The picture has started to collapse to the top of the screen then fold over "backwards"
occupying about the upper 2 inches of the screen. It will usualy stay this way for about 30 seconds to a minute then the screen will go dark.
When it does show a picture it is usualy not for any longer than a minute. Usually immediately before and during collapse the picture
will show what appear to be retrace lines. It started to die about a week ago. At first if I powered it off and on it would stay on. Now it
doesn't seem to matter if I cycle the power or not sometimes it comes on and dies as described above or it doesn't display any picture at all.
The sound works fine throughout the entire picture drop out and even when the picture doesn't respond at all the sound will work good. It
doesn't seem to be displaying any usable code. When I turn the set on, the TV clicks, there is a buzzing hum noise for about 0.1 seconds, and
then the picture will come on. (The TV has always made this buzzing hum noise immediately after turn on, it lasts about as long as it takes
you to say the word "thrum", I had assumed that it was the degausing coil being activated.) The red standby light blinks at approximately 1
hz until there is the sound of a relay click then the picture comes on. When the picture drops out it does not start any blinking cycle. I have
noticed that the light will blink until the second relay click, sometimes that doesn't occur, I have waited for over a minute (counted seventy
regularly spaced blinks) before I cycled power again. I have tried whacking it with power on as an easy search for cold solder joints. It didn't
seem to make any difference. I am an Electronic Technician but I am not in the consumer electronics field. I don't regularly work with CRTs
but I am familiar with high voltage circuitry and safety precautions that should be taken with it. If you suggest particular components to
check please let me know where I can get ahold of a component placement diagram or drawing so I can find them. I would like to fix it
myself if possible because: the nearest SONY repair shop is over 100 miles away and the local TV shop doesn't work on SONYs; our TV
cabinet is designed for a 32 inch 4:3 aspect ratio TV; and with the signal off of the satellite system the picture doesn't seem to be much
different than the HD TV's until you slide up close enough to see the pixels. 1K to 2K dollars seems like an awfuld lot to spend for a new TV
that Doesn't seem to show a whole lot better picture than I had been receiving. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You for your
time.
I have the same problem that DakotaFox had and same model. Can someone be kind enough to send me the repair manual? Thank you
