Sony KDL-40V2000 Flat Panel Television User Manual

Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle
IC, IC206. If yoiu have no TV repair experience, I highly advise you to call in a trained tech to assist you in this repair, as this repair will
involve dealing with the high voltage circuit. good Luck.

Larry looks like your the man. After reading your post for the last 2 hours i think i learned a lot from you(THANKS). But i want to make sure
im on the right track. What i got is a sony KV32FS320 that blinks 9 times. From what i got from here is that i need to replace the d611 and
630 on the G board. But im not sure i have a steady hand to soder, could i replace the G board instead? it would cost more but it would be the
safest way. As i know that there is a lot of juice in there. Could you give me some pointers as to how this would be done? And where i might
find it on the in side, and even a new onewith part # that would be cool. i did not open it yet but im going to start soon. thanks for any and all
the help in this forum.
i just called the tv shop down the street and this tv does not have a g board in it now im lost... PLEASE HELP!!!!

Hi Larry,
I am having problems with my 2 year old Sony Wega KV-24FS120. I am getting the 2 blinking lights on the standby power LED. It makes
sounds like it wants to turn on but there is no sound or pic. I was hoping it would be a blown fuse. Perhaps a spider crawled its way into the
vents and caused a short? I was wondering if you might have the repair manual and/or schematics for this particular model and if so if I you
could provide me with them.
It would be very much appreciated.
thanks

you do get this manual, let me know via e-mail. send me the exact symptom, as well as the copy of the service manual, and i will get back with
you within a few days. Good Luck

Thanks for your help, Larry.
I called the TV service company again and found out that Sony DOES have the D board available and that the part would cost me $346 and
the labour to install/adjust would be $250 (flat rate). I always loose faith in a service company when I get two different answers to the same
questions. At least they did give me the part number for the faulty D board.
I followed your link to Tri-State Module and found that they do exchanges/repairs on that module for $149, and I also used Google to locate
a free download of the service manual (http://www.download.nitd.co.uk/news.php).
I'm going to attempt this repair myself and will let you know how it works out!

hmm thats my email jaysin104@hotmail.com. but thanks, i picked it up today for $20.what would you say i should do with this? i was
told i can touch up the soders on the ''zero crossing detector'' but the book tells me that there is a ''Zero Cross Relay Delay(Q606)'' is this the
same? if i do this can i do it with it in the tv just the way it sits (a borad swong up)? just go over them with a soder gun?

Ok, my wife CAREFULLY counted the blinks and it turns out we're getting SEVEN blinks, not six. I know that seven blinks means:
Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check
power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
My question is: what, likely, is the fix and can you estimate how much such a repair would cost? I'm going to SELL this tv but I want to
disclose this problem (it's intermittent) and reflect the repair cost in my asking price.

Larry, Dakota-
I am having the exact same issue with my KV-32v42. I had a repair tech come out and diagnose the problem and he told me it was the IC
chip CXA2095S that was bad. (This chip controls the Y/C/RGB/Sync/Deflection for Color TV.) which seemed to make perfect sense to me.
What did not make sense was the 400 bucks he wanted to chanrge me when the TV only cost 600. Being in the IC industry I replaced the chip
