Thanks Larry.
Just found out the extended warranty I had originally purchased with Circuit Sh*tty is still active.

Well that is certainly great news man! Good for you, you were smart and bought an extended warranty.

Yeah, smart, and didn't listen to Consumer Reports for a change who''s busy telling everyone extended warranties are a waste of money.
Can't begin to imagine the repair bill if it turns out to be the picture tube and there was no warranty coverage.

On any large item purchase, you should include the extended warranty in your budget. I have even negotiated a free extended warranty with a
purchase of a fridge. It is not hard to do. You have a lot of playing room when it comes to the appliance/TV stores. Not with the superstores
like Wal-Mart though.

Hi,
My neighbour has a 50" sony 3lcd rear projection tv, a while after he bought it he has a purple haze in certain parts of the screen, which i
searched the internet for him & found it to be the optical block, which the catalogue he had it from replaced under warranty, now the
warranty has expired & he is getting the tv turning itself off randomly, was blinking red 3 times, After another search online we found some
component number to check on the power supply, so we looked, but the numbers were nowhere to be found. when we put it all back together
& tried it it wouldnt fire up at all, just hear some clicks, then we now get 2 blinks of the red light, which apparently is a power supply short
circuit.
He said he's had enough now & bought a new LCD tv, & has offered the faulty sony tv to me for free to see if i can get it working, i have some
knowledge of component level replacement etc, but could really do with the schematics diagram to find the faulty part & any help or
experience of any similar problems would be gratefully appreciated.
Many Thanks.

We also have a Sony KV32HS420 CRT tube type, where when we turned it on one day and had no picture at all, just sound.
The blinking code light was 7 count, of the which I understand is attributed to the high voltage circuit being bad. Is there a fuse that we can
check, on this, or is it a matter of replacing circuitboards? Does anyone out there have the service manual for this, so we can trace this down?

GES1407, hard to tell what's going on without a model number man!? I do not have a crystal ball. Without any info on a TV set it is
impossible to assist you. Can you read a schematic? Follow circuit flow? Lets have an e-mail address and a model number please.

follow circuits to a certain level, but am willing to have a go, after all the tv's not costing me anything & if i cant fix it i havent lost anything
either! thanks for your help.

Hello. My tv is a sony model kp-57ws510 and all of the sudden we tried to turn it on and then it just turns off about 10 seconds later. We can
hear the channel but the tv turns on so fast that nothing appears on the screen. Also, when we turn on the tv the standby/timer light blinks. I
don't know what to do to make it stop and we don't have the manual. If you have any ideas on how to fix it please email me at
mattbrown879@yahoo.com. Thank you.

Great forum! Our Sony 32" KV-32FS120 is about 13-14 months old - just outside warranty, and is not coming on at all and is blinking 9 times.
I understand I need to repair the two diodes on G-board and I would really appreciate if someone would post the photo of the board's
location inside the TV or send me a diagram/manual where I can locate G-board and components in question. My e-mail address is
igzy@hotmail.com Many thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Hello Larry, My sony RPTV went out yesterday, its a 7 yr old KP53V80 and the standbye light blinks 6 times which indicated a Horizontal
deflection stop error in the service manual....when I turn on the TV it powers up but it doesnt show any picture, I do see the OSD menu and
the input selection wording on the top left (ie: DVD, SAT) of the screen but no picture and I hear static from the speakers that cuts off
consistently (like: bzzzzz, stops quickly, bzzzzz, over and over).
The sevice manual says to check the C515, C516 and IC206 (YC Jungle). how do I check these, what am i looking for? I am familiar with
electronic repair and I have already dissassembled the TV and had a look inside. What do you think about this situation?
Thanks for any help
