Hi Larry! Awesome thread and your participation!
I have a KV 35S65. Do you have the manual? My email address is aubie8@yahoo.com.
My tv is continuously blinking when powered on. Can you give me a start to what to check and replace?
Thanks!
Chris

I do not have the service manual. What have you checked in the set, and do you have any solid state repair experience?

i have a little. fixed my car radio when it went out a year or so ago. usually i can fix things if i know what is wrong. it will be isolating it that
will be the hardest for me. at this point, i have done nothing but research online before i open it up. i didnt want to mess anything up going
in without a plan.

How many times does the light in front blink? I found a very simular manual. It is not the right model manual, but it does use the same
chassis number.

There is no random times it flashes? The light is for the tech to get an idea of where the problem is. Although in a lot of cases, one code is
something completely different. Now that I see this set, this TV set is common for the light to flash 9 times, then pause a second or so, and
start over again. If thats the case, the G board is bad. If it continues to flash constantly like you said, There is a problem with the Video jungle
somewhere. If it flashes 10 times and pauses and starts over again, the D board is bad.

Thanks for the info. It definitely is continuous with no pauses. I have turned it off and on several times to check.

I have a KP-51HW40 purchased in February 2002. The picture is fine for a while (anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour) and then the picture
will turn green, with the brightness increasing/decreasing slightly. A few times it has shut off and resulted in 8 LED flashes.
Larry, can you give me your diagnosis and e-mail me the service manual (KP-57HW40)at phred84044@yahoo.com?
Thanks,
Trent-

Larry,
The TV is now flashes bright blue and then shuts off and is giving me 6 LED flashed.
Is it worth fixing or should I replace it?

I have a sony kdp-57sbr2 rear projection tv
When you turn the power on the red, green, and blue crts gradually light up until full brightness at that time the tv shuts down then the
standby indicator blinks 5 times, I removed the back of the tv found a 2 conductor cable going to a high voltage distrubution block which has
3 high voltage leads that go to the crts when I unplug the 2 conductor cable from the board the power supply does not shut down could it
possibly be the distrubution block going to ground or shorting also do the high voltage cable unplug from this block I would like to try crts
individually looking for any suggestions
thanks..
