Sony KDL-40V2000 Flat Panel Television User Manual

indefinately.
Do you know where I can find the meanings of the flash error codes of this tv?
I am electronically and technically able so any help or advice you could give me would be enormously appreciated. Taking it to a Sony Repair
shop does not help as the cost to simply look at it is more I can afford at the moment.
Thanks alot in advance for any help,
Chris

Asa, whats your e-mail address? i do have the manual. I do not really know what you will do with it if you cannot follow the circuit flow. You
could use it however to see how your TV set comes apart so you can clean the lens. Let me know and I will get it out to you asap. Good Luck

HI LARRY, I have a sony KP-53HS10. The picture quality is duplicated by a blue shadow to the right of objects on the screen. When the unit
is powered up it blinks 5 times. After diagnostics were performed it displayed 5AKB - 42. Larry can you explain this code to me, and can it be
adjusted or fixed in home by me. I just finished reading all the posts in this forum and they were very informative, but I could not find a post
that referred to this problem. Do I need a service manual to address this problem?

Larry, my email address is asa.gage@ibec.net. Dou you think that repair quote is legit? I am on the fence right now as to whether I want
to fork over $370 to repair a tv that is a few years old or just spend a little more and get one of these lcd models.

Larry Dillon said: Sorry to inform you but you can take out the blue tube and install a new one in the home BUT there will be several
alighnments that need to be done to this set after the tube is replaced. You will need a service manual to perform these because of the on
screen seervice menu. I have the service manual and will send you a copy if you want it, but I send it through a proggy called pando because
of the size of this service manual. You can get Pando for free at www.pando.com

I called out a sony repair technician and he stated that all three crt's needed to be replaced!!!! but the blue was the worst. The stand by light
is blinking five times and after reading several forums, they are saying not to replace the crt's and that its a circuit board. Please help me
Larry, I dont want to make a $1000 mistake and i have no idea what to do. I am single dad with three small kids and money is tight.
Thanks and God Bless

thats a hard call my last two posts friends. You could possibly have a g or a D board problem, but it is also very possible that the picture tubes
are bad. If the tech took off the front of the set and look at the picture tubes for tiny sparks in the tubes when the set is on or first turned on,
then I would say, yes, the tubes are bad. This happens to a lot of early production models of the Sony projection TV sets. Before I spent a
1000 bucks, I would certainly go and look at other new tube type projection TV sets, as I have seen brand new sets going for under 1000
bucks. Good Luck and let us know how this turns out for you.
