Larry Dillon said: VP, the D-boards are no longer available, but your TV set sounds like it could have a bad green picture tube. The right
way to tell would be to pull off the front cover, behind the front speaker grill. Take the middle tube socket off the picture tube, that's the green
one. And pull it off the picture tube and leave it hanging so it is not touching anything. Turn on the set and see if it still shuts off. If it does, the
problem is most likely the D-board. If it does not shut off the green picture tube is bad. You can contact ptscorp.com and get their phone
number to see how much they charge to overhaul it. I have a a copy of the service manual, leave an e-mail address and we will see about
sharing a copy. Good Luck
Larry,
Thanks for your reply.
I had tech replaced the green picture tube and problem still exists. Green and now sometimes red flash and then tv shuts down and standby
led blinks 8 times. Tech now thinks its the main board ( the board on the right side, I think its A board)
Is he correct? he already charged me $550 for replacing the green tube and did not fix the problem.
I'm in jam here, pls help. my email is vijaypatelhp@gmail.com
Thank you.

So who diagnosed the green tube to be bad? Was it the tech? Then you should not have to pay for the tube if that's the case my friend. It could
very well be the a board, but I would make sure the tech knows what he is doing first, as it sounds like he is guessing at what is bad. is this
tech from an authorized Sony repair shop?

Larry,
The tech is local tech and not sure if he is authorized sony tech. The tech diagnosed that the green tube is bad. I spoke to him today and he
agreed to replace the A board without charge and he will also install my oreginal green tube back. lets see what happens.
Do you think the problem might be A board and not D board?
were you able to locate the service manual for me? My Tv is sony KP53HS30
Thanks for your quick replay

He is not an authorized Sony repair tech. If he was He would know it! Good for you for standing up to him. I am glad you did! With an 8 flash
code, I would tend to believe the problem is in the D board. Ask him if the replacement of the A board does not fix your problem, then will he
replace the D board for free. It is really hard for me to say for sure, yes the D board is bad. This is where experience comes to play. I would
personally replace the D board if it was my TV set. I will send you the Sony factory service manual if you really want it. I have your e-mail
address. Good Luck with this repair.

buzzle said: Hi Larry, I got a KV-32HV600/ chassis DA4 build in Oct 2002 TV set just went off to the standby LED with 7 blinking code
with no video/audio. I was able to reset it by unplugging the power cord for several hours a few time but now it refuses to cooperate. This set
is too heavy to bring to the service shop and they'll charge me $150 to just come out and look at it for an estimate. Repair service/part will
cost separately on top of the estimate fee. If you have the service diagram and part number/module's location that can help me identify the
faulty component; I' really appreciated for the advise Thank you, Dass
Hello Larry,
Haven't heard anything back from you yet, thought that i want to update with some finding
Standby LED blink 7 times relate to high voltage shutdown that exceed 33k which feed to the main picture tube. Where exactly are the PSU
and the horizontal circuit for this problem ?
Also, there is something about the horizontal deflection stop that need to be check out or reset
Can you help to locate and provide some tip to troubleshoot this issue please ?

You will have to get a service manual for this set first. I do not have one. If you cannot read or follow the circuit flow or trace the circuit with
the schematic., I'm afraid this is a little over your head. I wish It was that easy that I could point to something and tell you to change it. It has
to be traced out my friend. You could send the board into ptscorp.com, and they could overhaul it for you. Sorry, that's the best I can tell you
at this point without a manual or looking at the TV set. Good Luck

Hi, I googled about the problem we're having with our TV, so it seems like this is the place for advice.
We have a Sony KV-32FS320 32" FD Trinitron Wega, and 2 weeks ago, it started having problems. When we press the Power button, it takes
a lot of tries to get it on. Since then, we tried to just keep the TV on with the cable off, but I accidentally shut it off this past Sunday, and now
I can't even get it on at all. It blinks 9 times. I tried unplugging it overnight, but it still won't come on no matter how many times you press
the Power button. Are we able to fix this ourselves? If we can't, then I'd rather just buy a new TV rather than having to pay someone to look
at it and then pay for the part and them fixing it. If there's a manual to follow, maybe my husband can attempt to try to fix it, and worse
comes to worse, if it's not fixed, we'll just buy a new TV. Thanks in advance for your help.

On the G board, that is the power board, replace the diodes D6301 part number 6-500-567-21, and the D6116 part number 8-719-081-97.
They should be available at http://www.partstore.com or a local Sony parts distributor should have these common diodes. DO NOT
JUST RESOLDER THEM!! This will make the set work temporarly, but will not fix it unless you replace them. Good Luck and let us know if
