Table D-2: Is the Server Blade System Power LED Illuminated?
Answer Possible Reasons Possible Solutions
No A broken connection exists
between one or more of the
following components:
• Server blade enclosure
and server blade
• DC converter module
and system board
• DC converter module
and power supply
cables
• LED/power switch board
and system board
A short has occurred on the
system board.
The DC converter module
electronic fuse has been
tripped.
One or more of the following
may need to be replaced:
• server blade enclosure
• DC converter module
• power supply cables
• system board
• LED/power switch board
Perform the following steps:
1. Power down the system and disconnect all
possible fibre channel cables at the back of the
server blade.
2. Remove the server blade from the enclosure.
3. Check the connectors on the rear of the server
blade and on the interior of the enclosure for
damage.
4. With the system powered down, remove the
access panel.
5. Be sure that the proper connections exist among
the DC converter module and the attached cable,
system board, and LED/power switch board.
6. Check for bent pins on all components installed on
the system board.
7. Replace the access panel, and reinstall the server
blade into the enclosure.
If the system power LED is still not illuminated, perform
one of the following actions:
• Check that the circuit breakers on the bus bars are
positioned up.
• Use the iLO remote console to continue the
diagnosis.
• Move the server blade into a different slot to
determine if the server blade or the enclosure is
the source of the problem.
• Contact an authorized service provider for
replacement parts and service.
