Troubleshooting
• If the plug is disconnected from the AC socket, or the TV aerial has problems, you may think there is a problem with the TV
itself. Be sure to check the following before calling for service.

Problem Action

GENERAL
The TV cannot be turned on. • Insert the plug in an AC socket.
• Turn the main power on. (See page 6.)
No picture or sound. • Check aerial connections. (See page 2.)
• Choose the correct input mode. (See page 7.)
• Choose the correct colour system manually. (See page 16.)
The TV shuts off automatical-
ly.
• Did you set the Sleep Timer? (See page 19.)
Inoperable remote control. • Replace the batteries. (See page 2.)
• Insert the batteries correctly. (See page 2.)
• Use the remote control within about 7 metres of the TV.
MENU can not be displayed. • Are you watching the Teletext screen? None of the Menu operations are pos-
sible when viewing a teletext programme. Perform the Menu operation in the
TV mode.

PICTURE
Poor colour. • Adjust COLOUR and BRIGHT. (See page 15.)
• Choose the correct colour system manually. (See page 16.)
The ZOOM mode suddenly
changes.
• The AUTO mode is working. (See page 9.)
Lines or streaks in picture (in-
terference).
• Move the components apart until the interference is eliminated.
• Reposition the aerial.
Spots (crosstalk). • Reposition the aerial.
• Replace with an aerial with better directionality.
Double pictures (ghosts). • Reposition the aerial.
• Replace with an aerial with better directionality.
Snowy pictures (noise). • Check aerial connections.
• Redirect the aerial.
• Replace or repair the aerial.
The screen turns blue. • Is the Blue Back function set to ON? (See page 19.)
