Connecting the CD/DVD drive to the media server
Connecting the CD/DVD drive to the media server
Note:
Note: The CD or DVD drive must be placed with 5 degrees of level.
1. When using the DVD drive,
a. Plug one end of the power cord into the DVD drive and plug the other end into an
electrical outlet.
b. Set the small switch on the side of the DVD drive to "EXT."
2. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the faceplate of the S8400 Media Server.
3. When using the DVD drive, connect the other end of the USB cable to the DVD drive. (The
USB cable is not detachable from the CD drive).
Note:
Note: Immediately place the Avaya Communication Manager CD into the external
CD-ROM drive.
Powering up the media server
Note:
Note: The G650 media gateway must have power.
1. Pull the TN8400 circuit pack out far enough to extinguish all LEDs.
2. Carefully slide the circuit pack back in to reboot the system.
Accessing the media server
1. Connect the laptop to the services port on the faceplate of the media server using a
crossover cable.
2. Wait at least 3 minutes after powering up before starting a Telnet session to access the
information on the CD.
