surround processor or a Dolby Digital/DTS digital
surround decoder to the recorders optical digital jack

To use DTS digital surround, press AUDIO to select DTS
audio.

NOTE
When connecting the audio equipment to the analog
connection, we recommend that you set the
DD LEVEL in PLAYBACK SETUP to OFF (See page 81).
Important!
When using this connection, set the Digital OUT in
PLAYBACK SETUP to DIGITAL (See page 81).
NOTE
To play a disc recorded with DTS, you need to use DTS
processor or amplifier.
This connection is not possible if the processor or
amplifier to which you want to connect does not have a
optical digital input jack.
Refer to the operation manual for the processor or
amplifier for information about connecting to it.
