SPECTRA/ESPRIT MAIN MENU ACCESS
You can call up the Spectra or Esprit main menu by programming preset 95 (28 if in 32-
preset mode).
If you are using a KBD4000 Series keyboard: Press the SPOT MONITOR key. Enter 95,
and then hold the PRESET key until the main menu appears.
Refer to either the SD5 Series Spectra II and Spectra Lite Dome Systems or ES3000
Series Esprit Integrated Positioning System installation/operation manuals for full program-
ming and operating instructions.
TESTING
RECORDING AND PLAYBACK
1. Set the VCR hour mode to match the multiplexer’s normal recording speed. (Refer to
the
Record Setup
[Live/VCR or Display/Record Button]
section.)
2. Put the VCR into RECORD mode for 3-5 minutes. (The multiplexer must be in LIVE
mode to record.)
3. Stop the VCR and rewind the tape to its starting point.
4. Place the multiplexer in VCR mode and press VIEW. Ensure the VIEW LED is lit.
5. Press PLAY on the VCR.
6. Adjust tracking on the VCR until all distortion or snow disappears and the picture is
clear. Make sure the black bar across the top of the screen (with white dashes blinking
on and off) is completely clear and noise-free.
7. Press VIEW so the LED is not lit. The unit should decode the tape properly.
KBD4000/KBD4002/KBD4000V START-UP TEST
1. Press 1 on the keyboard, and then UNIT. The blank LED should change to “1”.
2. Press MAIN.
3. Press the 4-screen button. The picture should change.
NOTE:
There are three
ways of programming record
functions: universal mode,
switch pulse mode, and
programmed mode. The
simplest is universal mode,
which is shown here.
NOTE:
You must initialize
the keyboard after a power
failure or after unplugging
and reconnecting the
keyboard.
