Protect Your Recordings
To extend the life of the Explorer DVR and to save money on your electric bill, turn
Off the Explorer DVR each night before going to bed.
When the Explorer DVR is powered Off (and plugged into an active outlet), all
scheduled recordings will be performed automatically – and your recordings will
be protected.
Turning off your Explorer DVR also resets the Parental Control feature so that it
turns on automatically whenever the Explorer DVR turns on. Turning off the Explorer
DVR and turning it back on is the easiest way to turn on Parental Control for all the
programming you have chosen to block. For more information on this feature, see
“Block Programs With Parental Control” on page 33.
Each night before you go to bed, make
sure that the green Power indicator is off.
