Adjust Pictures on a Wide-Screen HDTV
HD-formatted programs have a wide format, similar to the format used in movies.
If your HDTV has a wide screen, it’s perfectly suited to show HD programs.
However, non-HD programs do not use a wide format and are unable to fill the
wide screen. For this reason, the 8000HD automatically adds bars to the sides of
non-HD programs. This display setting is called Normal or “Pillarbox.” However,
you can select from two other settings: Stretch and Zoom. These two settings
remove the bars and fill the wide screen with the picture.
Note: Stretch mode stretches the picture and removes the bars (letterbox bars
or pillarbox bars) from the screen.
To select a setting Normal or “Pillarbox”
