MANAGING THE DISC CONTENTS
General information
When a recording is made to a disc, the following additional information are
also stored at the beginning of the recording.
• Name of the recording - If the TV station does not transmit a name, only
the input source will be stored as the name, e.g. “Video 2”.
• Length of the recording
• Record mode (quality)
• Date of the recording
• Index picture of the recording
A marker will be set every 5-15 minutes, if the “Chapter marker” function
is activated in the “Recording” menu (see page 66). This marker is known
as a chapter. This means that chapters you do not want to see during play-
back can be skipped.
Using the edit menu you can adjust a title to your personal preferences.
During playback, press the button “EDIT” on your remote control to open
this menu. The following sections will inform you about the possibilities to
edit a disc:
• Deleting a title: to delete a title.
• Protecting or unprotecting a title: to add or remove a write-protection
to/from a title.
• Renaming a title name: to find out how to change a name.
• Deleting A-B: to delete point A to point B within a title.
• Formatting a disc: to format the disc in order to make it compatible to
your DVD recorder.
• Finalizing DVD+R discs: to finalize a DVD+R disc for being able to play
it in other DVD players.
Deleting a title
You can delete individual recordings from a disc. Proceed as following:
1 Select the title to be erased by pressing the button “C” or “D”.
2 Press the button “EDIT” on your remote control, select “Delete” with
the direction buttons and confirm your selection by pressing “ENTER”
on your remote control.
3 The message “Delete this title?” appears on the TV screen. Please
select “OK” with the direction button, if you want to delete this title. The
delete title progress bar appears on the TV screen and the required title
is deleted.
4 If you do not want to delete this title, select “Cancel” to cancel this
operation.
