6 EXCHANGING DATA WITH AN EXTERNAL DEVICE
(2) Transmission area
When transmitting data to an external device, the transmission data is stored in
the R2 transmission area. This transmission area is an R2 buffer memory area
used to write the transmission data size and transmission data to be transmitted
to the external device.
The transmission area size can be set by setting the
R2
0H and
R2
1H buffer
memories.
Refer to section (4) for details.
(a) Transmission area configuration
The transmission area stores the data size to be transmitted in the head
word, and stores the transmission data in the second and following words.

(At default)
POINT
The data amount transmitted in one session from the programmable controller
CPU to the external device must be set to be smaller than the R2 transmission
data storage area size.

Thus, if an amount of data that cannot be stored in the default transmission area is
to be transmitted, increase the transmission area.
