Troubleshooting
• Sound may not be heard clearly when certain sources play in DOLBY PRO LOGIC II surround mode.
Signals or sound effects to create realistic scenes are sometimes included on the DVDs and BS digital broad-
casts that support 5.1ch. However, they are not included in CDs and standard broadcasts. Select another
surround mode.
• Make sure that the speakers are connected correctly and the speaker cables’ core wires touch
the speaker connectors. 30
Sound from the connected turntable is very soft.
• Check to see if the turntable has an internal phono equalizer.
If it does not have a phono equalizer, obtain an optional one.
Playing a record on the turntable does not produce sound.
• If you are using a turntable with an MC cartridge, you will need a transformer or head amplifier to boost the
voltage, and a phono equalizer.
The disc will not play.
• Make sure that the disc has been loaded on the disc tray correctly.
The disc should be inserted with the playback side facing down. 49
