Test the System
TEST THE SYSTEM
START ANY TEST
1. Press the MENU button.
2. Select the
System Setup option.
3. Select the
Diagnos tics option.
Note: “Diagnostics” are just “ tests.”
4. Select the option for the test you want to do.
Note: If we upgrade the r eceiver software ,we m ay a dd new tests.
TEST THE PHONE CONNECTION
1. Make sure you connect a phone line to the receiver’s back pa nel
PHONE JACK.
2. Select the
Connection option.The receiver
displays a m essage that asks you to wait until
the test is done.
• If the phone c onnection is oka y, the receiver displays a
message that says so.
• If the receiver displa ys a message that
it needs to make a toll-free call to the
Customer Service Center, select the
Dial Out option.The receiver displays
a message that asks you to wait until
it finishes the call. When the receiver finishes the call, select
the
Cancel option.
• If you didn’t connect the phone line right, the receiver
displays a message that says so. C he ck the phone connection
andthendothetestagain.
Note: If you have a Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), you may
need to install a DSL filter between the receiver and the
tele phone wall jack, and then do the test again.
