The DVD-V8000 has 4 video output options (composite, com-
ponent, S, DVI) and 3 audio output options (analog stereo,
optical digital, coaxial digital), allowing connections to the
corresponding devices.
Important
When making connections to other components or
making changes in connections, always turn power
off and disconnect the power plug from the outlet be-
forehand.
This player supports analog copy protection technology.
Connecting this player to a TV via a video deck, or record-
ing DVD video to a VCR and then playing it back may re-
sult in improper playback. This player may also not be com-
patible with some combination TV/VCRs due to the op-
eration of the copy guard system; refer to your display’s
manufacturer for detailed information.
Standard connections
The connections described below are those for a basic setup
using composite output. In this setup, stereo audio is played
through the speakers in your television set.

Connecting to a device equipped
with S-video input
If your television set (or other component) is equipped with
an S-video input connector, you can connect the player to it
with the appropriate S-video cable in place of the ordinary
(composite) output to produce higher quality video pictures.

with component video input
For television sets or other devices equipped with a compo-
nent image input connector, the player’s component video
output can be used for connections, producing the highest
quality analog connection.
