DVR Management Menu (Required user access level: ID4)
2 AUDIO RECORDING (default: ON)
Choose whether to record the sound at the
same time by selecting either the “ON” or
“OFF” radio button.
Available options:
• ON: The system records sound as part
of the video data.
(Each channel must have its [AUDIO
REC LEVEL] configured within the range
of 1 to 10.)
• OFF: The system does not record sound.
3 OVERWRITE (default: ON)
You can control whether to overwrite the
existing recorded data when the hard disk
runs out of free space.
Available options:
• ON:
When the disk runs out of free space, the
system overwrites the existing data on a
first-in first-out basis.
(Turning on this setting locks the [Disk
Full Reset] button.)
• OFF:
When the disk runs out of free space, the
DVR’s “low space” alarm lamp flashes,
and the system stops recording.
(Turning off this setting unlocks the [Disk
Full Reset] button.)

An error is generated when your
computer is not installed a sound
card and you turn on [AUDIO
RECORDING]. For more information,
refer to “Hardware and Software
Requirements” on P4.
If you continuously use the DVR with the
[OVERWRITE] setting turned on and the
disk runs out of free space, the system
overwrites the existing data on a first-in
first-out basis. Be sure to back up any
important video data before it is
overwritten.
