Using the Tool Menu Options
b Tamper Detection (required user access level: ID2/3/4)
It is possible to appraise whether or not video or date and time information of files downloaded from
DVR to external recording media has been tampered with by the following procedure.

Click [Browse..].
A dialog opens that displays a list of
referenced files.

Select the video file you want to check
for tampering, and click [Open].
The [FILENAME] box is populated with
your specified file name.

Click .
The system starts checking the video file
for any altered frames. During this
process, the progress bar in the dialog
shows the status.

Review the results of tamper
detection.
• If no altered frames are detected:
The “No altered frames are found.”
message appears in the dialog.
• If altered frames are detected:
The [ALTERED] window appears that
lists the time stamps of the altered
frames. You can display any altered
frame by clicking the corresponding
row on the [ALTERED] window.
• If tampering of date and time
information is detected:
The “Found time-stamp is altered.”
message appears in the dialog.
You cannot load a video file (.mp2)
unless it is stored together with the
index file (.idx) of the same file
name in the same folder.
To cancel the process in progress,
click [CANCEL] on the dialog.
Click [Previous] or [Next] to
move the selected row up or
down on the [ALTERED]
window and automatically
switch the altered frame.
Tampering of date and time information
can only be detected when the DVR from
which video data was downloaded is
DSR-M810(P)/DSR-M814(P) and the
firmware version is 2.30-00 or higher.
To display an altered frame, click the
corresponding row.
