MOTION DETECTION SETUP
Motion detection recording saves hard drive space and makes it easier to search and retrieve recorded data. Use the motion
detection menu to select the motion detection areas of a scene.
Figure 8. Motion Detection Setup Menu
1 CAMERA Selection Box – Select the camera for motion detection setup.
2 BEEP Selection Box and Slider Bar – Select to sound an alarm at the DX7100 server when motion is detected. The alarm
can be set to beep for 1-10 seconds. The time setting applies to all cameras, but the beep can be set individually for each
camera. Note: The beep is only heard at the DX7100 server station and not at a remote site.
3 SENSITIVITY Slider Bar – Set the sensitivity of the detection areas for the selected camera.
NOTE: The sensitivity should be set to 40% for areas with normal movement. If the sensitivity level is set too high, the
slightest changes in light level and contrast will trigger motion detection. If the sensitivity is set too low, motion may not
be detected.
4 CLEAR ALL BLOCK Button – Deletes all motion detection area blocks for the selected camera.
5 Camera View – Indicates areas set for motion detection. Up to 10 detection areas, indicated by red boxes, can be set per
camera. To select an area, hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse over the area. Each click of the mouse
button counts as a box. If you do not set any boxes, the entire view is selected for motion detection.
