³Refer to the televisions operating instructions.
³Turn the television off and disconnect its AC power supply cord.

Conserving power
This unit consumes a small amount of power, even when it is turned
off (approx. 5 W ). To save power when the unit is not to be used for
a long time, unplug it from the household AC outlet.
Connect Your Unit Directly To Your
Television.
Do not connect the unit through your video cassette recorder
when setting up your home entertainment system, because
the picture may not be played correctly due to the copy guard.
º When you have finished connecting the unit
Change the units settings to suit your televisions aspect ratio
( Selecting TV screen type, page 21). You do not have to change
this setting if you have a television with a regular 4:3 aspect.
º Upgrading your system
To enjoy CATV broadcasts
See Expanding your home theater system on page 75.
(A contract with a cable TV company is required in most cases to
view these broadcasts.)
To enjoy sound through other audio equipment
You can output digital signals from this units DIGITAL AUDIO OUT
terminal, enabling you to enjoy the powerful surround effects found
on discs recorded with Dolby Digital or DTS. Connect an amplifier
with built-in decoders. See page 78 for connection examples.
