Using the direct navigator
Entering and editing program
titles
[RAM] [DVD-R]
Preparation
³Switch [DVD, TV] to “DVD”.
³Insert a disc you have recorded on.
1 While stopped
Press [TOP WINDOW].
2 Use the joystick [3, 4, 2, 1] to
select “DIRECT NAVIGATOR” and
press [ENTER].
3 Use the joystick [3, 4] to select the
program whose title you want to enter
or edit.
4 Use the joystick [1] so the submenu
appears.
5 Use the joystick [3, 4] to select
“Enter Title” and press [ENTER].
6 Enter or edit the title.
Enter titles as with disc titling (➡ page 51).
For your reference
You can give the programs on DVD-RAM titles of up to 64 charac-
ters and programs on DVD-R titles of up to 44 characters.
Note
³You cannot enter titles if the disc is protected with the write-protect
tab (➡ page 99).
³You cannot enter titles if the disc is protected with DISC SETTING
(➡ page 52).
³You cannot enter titles if the program is protected with the direct
navigator (➡ page 60).
³
Even if you have entered up to the maximum number of characters,
characters you enter after the position marked with “
4
” in the title field
and the two characters immediately prior to the mark will be replaced
with “” when displayed in the direct navigator.
