Timer recording
º To continue programming
After selecting an available line, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 on page 46.
º To end programming
Press [PROG/CHECK] or [RETURN]. The timer recording list disap-
pears and the message TURN RECORDER OFF FOR TIMER
RECORDING is shown on the television.
To put the unit on timer recording

Press [ê, POWER].
Ensure ç lights on the units display.
Note
If the disc is protected or full, the unit switches to standby but does
not go for timer recording standby. Check the disc carefully.
º Flexible recording mode (FR)
³The unit automatically selects a recording rate between XP and
EP that will enable the timer recording to fit in the available re-
cording time on the disc with the best possible recording quality.
³You can use the mode only with timer recording.
³It may not be possible to record to the finish of the program if the
remaining time doesnt allow.
Note
³The built-in clock employs 12-hour system.
³The remaining time displayed is calculated based on the current
recording mode.
³Approximately 30 seconds at the beginning of subsequent pro-
grams is not recorded when you used timer recording to record
multiple programs to a DVD-R.
³Recording is not possible unless you set Disc Protection in DISC
SETTING to Off ( page 53). [RAM]
³You can not record to a disc if the disc is protected with the write-
protect tab. Release this before operation ( page 99). [RAM]
³Timer recording may not work as set when summer time switches
to winter time and vice versa ( page 88).
To change the timer recording

1 While the timer recording list is being shown
Use the joystick [3, 4] to select the
program you want to change, and
press [ENTER].
The timer recording setting screen is shown.
2 Move through the items with the
joystick [1] and change the settings
with the joystick [3, 4] and press
[ENTER].

To delete a timer recording
program
While the timer recording list is being shown
Use the joystick [3, 4] to select the
program you want to clear and press
[CANCEL].
Note
You cannot delete programs that are currently recording.
