Using the Remote Control
Learning about the remote control
The error message “NOT AVAILABLE” may appear if you press a key
for a function that is not available.
1 The POWER button turns the TV On and Off. When the TV is
on, the power LED indicator on the TV front glows green.
2 The EJECT button ejects the disc from the disc slot.
3 The TV/DVD button switches between TV and DVD mode.
4 The FREEZE button freezes the picture. Press again to restore
the video, see “Using the FREEZE feature” on page 75.
5 The INPUT button selects the video input source, see
“Selecting the video input source” on page 59.
6 The Channel Number buttons directly tune channels.
7 The FAV button accesses the Favorites List in the Channel
Browser, see “Favorites browser” on page 64.
8 The Dash/100 button allows you to enter two part channel
numbers, see “Tuning to a specific channel (programmed or
unprogrammed)” on page 67 or to edit the Favorites List, see
“Favorites browser” on page 64.
9 The PIC MODE button selects the picture mode, see
“Selecting the picture mode” on page 76.
10 The PIC SIZE button cycles through the picture sizes
“Selecting the picture size” on page 69.
11 The MUTE button reduces or turns off the sound, see “Muting
the sound” on page 81.
12 The SLEEP button accesses the sleep timer, see “Setting the
sleep timer” on page 106.
13 The DISPLAY/INFO button displays TV status information as
well as program details, when available, see “Displaying TV
status information” on page 112.
14 The CH ( / arrow) buttons cycle through programmed
channels (when no on-screen menu is displayed), see .
15 The VOL (+ –) buttons adjust the volume level.
16 The DVD MENU button accesses the DVD menu, see “DVD
