Preparation
1 Switch on the television and select the preset channel for the
HDD DVD recorder.
2 If an audio system or an AV receiver is connected to the HDD
DVD recorder, switch it on and select the audio input for the
HDD DVD recorder.
3 Press »
Ǽ« to switch on the HDD DVD recorder from standby
mode.
– The television station of the first preset channel is dis-
played and the current programme is buffered in the time
shift memory.
Playback
1 Open the »MAIN MENU« of the HDD DVD recorder by
pressing »i«.
2 Select the » HDD« menu item with »
S
« or »
A
« and
confirm with »OK«.

open the HDD archive by pressing » « (yellow).
– The HDD archive is displayed and the first eight recordings
are displayed.
3 Select the programme you want by pressing »
S
« or »
A
«.
– The thumbnail index and the length of the selected recording
are displayed in the contents table.
– The symbols mean:
» « Title is blocked. You can only play back the title by
entering a password.
» « Title is protected. This title cannot be edited.
4 Press »
8« to start playback.
5 Press »
!
« to pause playback (freeze-frame).
6 Advance frame-by-frame by pressing »
!
«.
7 Press »
8« to resume playback.
Note:
Playback stops automatically at the end of the programme.
Afterwards the contents table of the HDD archive is displayed.
8 Press »7« to end playback.
Note:
The HDD DVD recorder “remembers” the last playing position.
When starting playback of the title again, a message appears
to ask you if you would like to play the title from the last playing
position (»Yes«) or from the beginning of the title (»No«). This
function is only possible if you have not marked any scenes (see
page 47).
