RS232/RS485 Setup Screen
Use the RS232/RS485 Setup screen to set up the RS232 and RS485 ports to
communicate with external devices such as remote controls, and dome cameras.
Highlight RS232/RS485 in the Device menu (MENU
➤ Device ➤ RS232/RS485) and
then press # . The RS232/RS485 screen displays.

1. Highlight the field for the settings you wish to make. Select the correct Baud Rate,
Parity, Data Bit, and Stop Bit for the device you are connecting to the DVR.
2. For RS232, it is possible to select either Remote Control, External Modem, or
Text-In in the Usage field.
For RS485, it is possible to select either Remote Control or PTZ Control in the
Usage field.
Note Selecting External Modem in the RS232 field only defines the
RS232C port as being used for external modem connections.

modem.
Note Selecting PTZ Control in the RS485 field only defines the RS485
port as being used for PTZ camera connections. Select the PTZ
device in the Camera Setup screen (see Camera Setup Screen,
page 33).
