Reinstalling Software
There may be occasions when you have to reinstall software or restore software
after replacing the hard disk. The procedures in this section explain how to
reinstall software on the hard disk. If you replace the hard disk, you must also
configure the controller BIOS. To configure the controller BIOS, follow steps
under Configure the Controller BIOS on page 56.
On rare occasions you may need to reformat the hard disk. If so, follow the steps
under Reformatting the Hard Disk on page 57. Otherwise, follow the steps under
Reinstalling the Windows 95 Software on page 58.
NOTE. You should perform all of the procedures in this section in sequence.
This procedure is necessary after replacing the hard disk or when the CMOS
settings are corrupted or lost. You will need the the emergency startup disk that
you created when you installed your logic analyzer (see Create an Emergency
Startup Disk on page 13). To configure the Controller BIOS, complete the
following steps:
1. Power off the logic analyzer and insert the emergency startup disk in the
floppy disk drive.
2. Power on the logic analyzer.
3. When prompted, press function key F2 on the keyboard before the logic
analyzer boots the Windows 95 operating system.
4. In the Main Setup menu, use the Down Arrow key to scroll to the line
labeled IDE Adapter 0 Master.
5. Press the Enter key to display the hard disk detail submenu.
