6. Press the Enter key again to cause the logic analyzer to automatically
determine and set the hard disk drive parameters.
7. Press the ESC key twice and then the Enter key twice to exit and save the
BIOS setup.
You should not reformat your hard disk drive unless it is absolutely necessary. If
you find that you need to format the hard disk, (if possible) make sure that you
have backup copies of your user files so that you can reinstall them later.
You must perform the following procedure after you replace the hard disk, or
when the partitioning or the format of the hard disk has been damaged. You will
use the Setup program on the Windows 95 Setup Boot floppy disk to partition
and format the hard disk.
Complete the following steps to format the hard disk:
1. Insert the Windows 95 Setup Boot floppy disk in the floppy disk drive.
2. Power on the logic analyzer so that it boots from the floppy disk.
3. Press function key F3 to exit the Setup program; press F3 again to confirm
your selection.
You must temporarily exit the Setup program to properly execute the FDISK
command with the /X switch. If you do not execute the FDISK /X command
separately, the primary DOS partition will not be compatible with the
TLA 700 Series BIOS.
4. At the prompt, enter the command FDISK /X.
5. Enter N when you are asked if your want to select Large Disk Support.
6. Select option 1 to create a new partition on the hard disk.
7. Select option 1 again to specify that the new partition is to be the primary
DOS partition.
8. Enter Y to use the maximum available size for the DOS partition.
9. Press the CTRL, ALT, and Delete keys simultaneously to reboot the logic
analyzer and restart the Setup program.
When the Setup program restarts, it will caution you that there is an
operating system already installed. Disregard this message. The message
appears because you partitioned the hard disk in the previous steps.
10. Continue with the Setup program and follow the instructions on the display.
The Setup program will format the hard disk and exit the program when
complete.
