General TV Problems
Humming noise
• Your LCOS television is equipped with fans to keep it cool. The lamp unit that
is part of the LCOS technology needs to cool for a short period of time after
you turn off the TV. Therefore, a slight humming noise is normal. One of the
fans continues to run even after you turn off the TV because the LCOS TV is
continually working to gather information for program listings.
TV doesn’t turn on right away
• It takes a few seconds for your TV’s internal lamp unit to warm up, and for
your TV to reproduce all of the information required to produce a crisp, clear
picture. Go to page 33 for more details.
• You might have tried to turn on the TV when the lamp unit inside of the TV
was in cooldown mode (lamp cooldown mode lasts from approximately 30 to
60 seconds after the TV is turned off). Wait 30 seconds and turn on the TV.
TV won’t turn on
• Make sure the TV is plugged in, and press the
l
(power) button on the front
of the TV instead of using the remote control to turn on the TV.
• Plug the TV into a wall receptacle or power strip. DON’T plug your TV into an
outlet that is controlled by a light switch because the TV needs to be receiving
power continuously, even when it’s “off.”
• Check the wall receptacle (and extension cord, if applicable) to make sure it is
“live” by plugging in something else.
• Maybe the remote is in the wrong mode — press the DIRECTV or the TV
button on the remote.
