The Power Light
The power light on the front of your TV (sometimes called an L.E.D.) also functions
as an important indicator: it lets you know what’s happening inside of your TV.
Your LCOS television is equipped with a special lamp unit that is part of the system
that enables your TV to display such crisp images (explained in Chapter 1). The
lamp needs to warm up and cool down when you turn on and turn off your TV
respectively. The power light gives you information about the lighting system of
your TV.
Light blinks: you’ve tried to turn on the TV when the lamp unit is cooling. Wait
approximately 30 seconds and turn on the TV again.
A series of blinking (the light blinks, pauses for about a minute, blinks
again, pauses for about a minute, and then flashes for approximately one
minute): there is problem with the lamp unit — most likely the lamp unit needs
to be replaced (go to page 144 in Chapter 7 for details).
How to turn off the power light
Even though this power light is designed to add aesthetic appeal to your high-end
television, some people might prefer to turn it off when they’re watching the TV in
a dimly lit or dark room.
To turn off the power light, go to the main menu and select Preferences, select the
Power Light menu, and select Off Always. Go to page 125 in Chapter 6 for more
information.
Note: The power lights indicator functions (explained previously) will still
work even if you turn off the power light.
