External MPI Control
To control the STB using an external MPI control device, you must use the STB’s MPI port for
communication purposes.
Note: The STB-2000 is not equipped with an MPI card slot.
FTG Mode
Inthismode,theSTB’sCPUisconguredwithanFTGChannelMap,andtheCPUcontrolsandrestricts
the tuning operation of the STB based on this FTG Channel Map. The FTG Channel Map enables the
decryption of each Pro:Idiom
®
encrypted channel and also provides logical channel mapping of physical RF
channels (analog and digital) and Aux inputs.
Note: Logical channel mapping of physical RF channels eliminates dash tuning (for example, physical 19-3
can be mapped to logical channel 9). Physical channel tuning requires that you include the dash when direct
entering channel numbers.
FTG Mode Features
FTG Mode provides the following features:
• Logical tuning of physical RF channels and Aux inputs.
• Logical tuning of IP channels.
• Mapping of RF channels with minor (program) numbers up to 999.
• FTG Channel Map of up to 600 logical channels.
• Start Channel set for RF, Aux input, or IP delivered content.
• Pro:Centric data delivery over RF or IP.
• TVZoningandWi-FiZoningoptionsforlocation-specicconguration.
LG’sFTGFileManagerPCsoftwareenablesyoutocreateanFTGConguration(.tlx)le,whichmaybe
usedtoconguretheCPUforFTGMode.FTGFileManagerutilitiesenableyoutocreate/editanFTG
ChannelMapandcongureInstallerMenusettings.Youcanalsosave(Learn)aTLXlefromaMaster
STB.
Inthismode,theSTB’sCPUmustbeconguredwithanFTGChannelMapandFTGInstallerMenusettings
using one of the following processes:
• Local:CongureanindividualSTB-2000viaitsUSBportusingaUSBmemorydevice/TLXle.The
“TeachtoSTB(TLX)”processandassociatedproceduresforFTGmodecongurationaredescribedon
pages 45 to 51.
• Remote:CongureallSTB-2000s at the site using a Pro:Centric server head end device (Example:
PCS150R).LoadaTLXleonthePro:CentricserverusingtheTVE-ZInstallation“Conguration”option
in the Pro:Centric server Admin Client. Refer to the Pro:Centric Server Admin Client User Guide for
further information.
