Learning / Teaching a Master STB Setup using a TLL File
This section describes how to Learn and/or Teach a Master STB Setup using
aTLLle.
Before You Begin
• Learning and Teaching is only possible between identical model STBs.
• Complete the Custom Master STB Setup procedure (see pages 35 to 38).
• Ensure the USB device has been formatted with FAT format.
• YoumayeditthelenameaspartoftheLearningprocedure;however,ale
with edited contents will not be recognized.
• It is not possible to clone a Master STB’s clock. Either set a Target STB’s
clock manually, or use the Auto Clock setting in the STB setup menus.
Caution: Do not unplug the STB power cord or remove/disconnect
the USB memory device while Learning or Teaching, as doing
so may cause the STB to malfunction or harm the USB device,
respectively.
Learn Setup from Master STB
1. Ensure the Master STB is set up completely and in Pass-through Mode
(i.e., the STB setup menus should be displayed on the screen when you
press MENU on the Installer Remote).
2. Insert the USB memory device into either of the USB ports on the Master
STB.
3. Press MENU on the Installer Remote to display the STB setup menus.
Use the arrow navigation keys to select/highlight the Option menu icon,
and then press the number “7” key a total of seven times to display the
USB Download Menu.
4. To gain access to the “Learn From STB” options in the USB Download
Menu, key in the following number sequence on the Installer Remote:
9-8-7-6.
5. Use the Up/Down arrow keys to select Learn From STB (TLL), and then
press OK.
6. IntheLearnFromSTB(TLL)window,todifferentiatethisTLLlefrom
others,youcanusetheUp/Downarrowkeystochangethelastvedigits
ofthelename.PressOK when you are ready to initiate Learning.
Learning status will be shown on a progress bar in a new window. Do NOT
remove the USB device until Learning is complete. When the Learning
process is complete, the USB Download Menu will reappear on the screen.
7. When Learning is done, press on the Installer Remote to exit the USB
Download Menu, and remove the USB memory device from the Master
STB.
